Concert alert!

There are a whole bunch of shows coming up in the next few months that I would like to share with you. First off I already got my ticket to see Justice and Diplo at the end of this month. Dance party? yes.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E. (diplo remix)

This weekend in San Francity there will be two really awesome shows. First off Crystal Castles and HEALTH will be playing at the independant while Mt. Eerie is playing at the Enola Maxwell High School Auditorium. I would personally go with Mt. Eerie but I'm sick in bed so I really don't have any say.

Vampire Weekend and Yacht are also playing later this month but I heard that the show has already sold out. Thats about it for March. Hot Chip is playing at the end of April and Beirut is on Daniel's birthday in May. Hopefully people start coming down to Santa Cruz to say hello.

Block Party

The Diplo/Kid Sister/A-Trak show was yesterday. To sum it up in one word the show was overwhelming, but that is a bit of an understatement. I showed up at around 3:50 and an impromptu fashion show is taking place on the main stage. Every type of hipster imaginable managed to stumble into the show and are A) smoking a short-run mainstream cigarette B) clenching onto their new Nikon D80 rig or C) looking absolutely ridiculous while smoking/taking pictures. Out of the two acts Diplo stole the stage with his baile funk mix with blue monday. A-trak was rad, but Kid sister was super rad, and thats a whole lot of rad. Overall it was well worth a 20$ magazine subscription. The Humpty Dance is Your Chance to do the HUMP

This weekend was super neat. My friends Dyll and Cass Hersey from the Death Lair had a rockstar party on Saturday. I went as David Bowie (with a "I fucked Mick Jagger" I made that day), there was a Axel Rose, Cyndi Lauper, and everyone else was Bon Jovi. Hands down the best dance party of the year, it even topped Aaron Carter's party. So, as a follow up to a awesome dance party, I will post some awesome dance music that I have been listening to when I take the bus to work.


Girl Talk has two new tracks out off of his EP Bone Hard Zaggin'. Sounds much more like Unstoppable than Night Ripper. I think his older stuff has really grown on me so it is nice to hear more new songs like these:

I downloaded Hollertronix Never Scared a few months ago after doing some heavy listening to Diplo's M.I.A. remixes (i.e. Lady Killer). I just recently started to listen to this album, mostly on the bus, waiting at the bus stop, or walking to the bus and it has a few earwigs. Check out these two tracks:
