Hotel parking lot shooting

I ran out of good Animal Collective photographs so this old picture of mechanical/organic romance will have to do. Anyways the new Animal Collective EP Water Curses found its way onto the internet a few weeks ago. Like always their shit is worth its weight in gold so here is a 24-k nug of a song.

Water Curses - Animal Collective

The Justice + Diplo show last Thursday hit me like a pile of bricks made of snow filled with dead batteries. The show restored my faith in 1) live music and 2) the French. The best part about the show was that it was hosted by myspace. OMGZ I <3 MYSPACE!!!! Myspace is so much cooler than facebook or livejournal or blogger. yay. So here is a nice track by Midfield General that was produced by Justice. Let my just say that the name says it all.

Midfield General - Disco Sirens

There are a lot of awesome shows coming up, but the one I would a ticket too the most would be YELLE. If you dont know her watch this.

"who makes this music anyways?"

In lite of the pagan new-year/halloween, & the fact that Sweden is the source of so much goodness right now, here is probably the best usage of masks by an artist in the past year. [the visual effects. the song. see for yourself!]

The Knife - Heartbeats (live)

more glorification of the incognito..

Bone Fish

Caitlin and I drove up to San Francity last night to see Animal Collective at the Fillmore. Amazing? Yes. Insane? Sort of. Salty tears filled with a megaton of serotonin? Of course! I was really blown away by their performance because over half of the stuff that they played is unreleased but when they did a the occasional recognizable song the crowd went apeshit.

Peacebone - Animal Collective

The next show I am going to see is the Chemical Brothers towards the end of this month. Here are a few of my favorite CB music videos to keep you busy.

where did all the magic go?

If you are awesome (like me) you will go see NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD LIVE! my friend Geordie is in it and his plays are super gory and funny so if you are in the bay area over the next three nights check it out.

A few more shows are going to be in the city over the next two months that everyone should see. In my book they all carry equal weight and none should be missed. To start, Flosstradamus and Chromeo are going to be here in late July along with Daft Punk. I know that Daft Punk is sold out but there must be a way to work around that. A plus is that Flosstradamus is only 10 bucks. Chromeo might be a little hard to get into but try to give them a chance.

I am Somebody feat. Chromeo - DJ Mehdi

In August Daniel Johnston and the Animal Collective will be in the city. I think they speak for themselves but here is a little sample:

Phantom of my own Opera - Daniel Johnston

Winter's Love (Live) - Animal Collective

p.s. Girl Talk in September. I call dibs.
